Bell rendering in brass
Growing up, my mother would tell my sister and I stories about how when she was child, her six siblings and her would spend their days out and about in the neighborhood. Since these were the days before cellphones, her mother would call all her children home by standing at the end of their driveway and ringing a cowbell. This sound could be heard throughout the neighborhood. My mother originally wanted to keep this item as an heirloom, but her mother had given it away before knowing this. In “Ringing Home,” I decided to design a replacement cowbell to gift to my mother. A cowbell that would honor the memory of her mother.
